Automation of the aircraft engine turbine mounting process is the riskiest phase during aircraft engine assembly.
It consists of introducing the axis of the turbine (more than 2 metres long) into the front part (FAN) and central part (Core) of the aircraft engine with a tolerance of only a few hundredths of a millimetre.
Our clients had no automated solution, and no such solution existed on the market.
All operations were carried out manually.
And so we worked on this automation project.
eFitt is a made-to-measure manipulator arm inspired by hexapod technology.
It is driven by real-time open-loop control and vision systems that continuously guarantee the position and control of the mounting.
The entire system is mobile, allowing for movement to different stations and requirements to be shared.
