Guillaume’s career at Supratec

"I arrived at Supratec in 2014 as part of my work placement in the 1st year of my Master's. I worked for SUPRATEC Enomax for 6 months as a Mechanical Design Engineer.
I then continued the 2nd year of my Master’s in Mechanical Engineering as a student-apprentice under the same position.
After my studies, I joined SUPRATEC Synergies, the new Supratec design office, first on a 6-month fixed contract, then under a permanent one."

A few words about his profession

"I study the mechanical design of a solution (parts and physical units) in order to launch products into manufacture.
I develop ergonomic manipulation systems for heavy parts, mainly for the aeronautical sector. These systems can help operators on their assembly line."

His daily routine

"On a project, I start with a “draft proposal” to develop solution concepts. I use CAD software to draw my ideas, so as to present the outline of the proposed solution to the client and confirm the continuity of the project.
Once the draft proposal is approved, the mechanical study begins. I use CAD design again but it’s much more driven and precise than during the “draft proposal” phase. Each stage is approved in-house and by the client.
I then move on to “mapping”, to initiate the manufacture of all parts and construct the 1st prototype.
Testing phases are carried out, with operating response on the prototype in order to best improve the system until the end product is achieved, which meets 100% of the client's expectations and requirement."

His most memorable project

"eRoll comes to mind straight away! I’ve only just finalised the end product. I’ve been working on the project for nearly one year.
It’s an AGV solution with a built-in lifting system that can be positioned under the tools carrying heavy parts such as aircraft engines.
eRoll is highly innovative because it integrates quite a few new technologies, particularly at the level of device placement (Mecanum wheels)"
