David’s career at Supratec

"I arrived in 2015 as a Service Technician for Suprasteam at SUPRATEC Enomax.
At the time, the Vice Chairman had decided to create a global Supratec maintenance centre and was quick to offer me the position of Maintenance Manager. I accepted immediately!
When I arrived, there were only 2 of us. Now there are 4, with the help of the engineers, automation experts and electricians for the more specific machines."

A few words about his profession

"I manage the preventive and curative maintenance of the equipment as well as its commissioning.
Preventive maintenance consists in carrying out a review of the maintenance. And curative maintenance covers all repairs in the event of breakdown.
As for commissioning, that involves coming to hook up the machines at the client’s premises and providing them with technical training on usage following a sale.
I also handle the quality aspect on the range of steam machines and do this in the aim of continuously improving all Supratec machines."

His daily routine

"I resolve clients’ disputes and after-sales service problems. I’m contacted directly by clients if there's a problem.
We try to solve problems over the phone in the first instance.
If that's not possible, either :
- We repair the machine at our workshop
- We direct them to an approved technical station depending on their geographical area
- We intervene directly at the client's premises, mainly for large machines
I also manage an administrative part, in particular the after-sales service contracts.
It’s a new post. Therefore, I built the service from A to Z, implementing some fee schedules (transport, maintenance), correlation tables for the spare parts associated with each machine, a fee standardisation grid and so on, in order to improve the service provided to the client as well as the organisation of the service.
Lastly, I aimed to increase preventive maintenance, and to find approved technical stations to expand our geographical area."

His most memorable project

"The creation of the service remains my favourite project because there was nothing when I first arrived. We’re still in full development because I’m progressively taking over management of the maintenance of each Supratec brand.
With time, our objective is to become technical experts of all machines of the different brands."

His next challenge

"Building a high-quality maintenance service that can best meet clients’ demands. We’ll also have to introduce a common procedure for all brands whatever the type of machine."

A final word from David

"My motivation: the right atmosphere that extends throughout the company, motivating projects that always make us want to go further, the youthful spirit of the associates that bring Supratec to life, and innovation through new products.
Supratec is a company that’s going somewhere and is continually changing. That makes us want to progress with it!"
